Notes

  • RICHARD AND WILLIAM GILBERT (1851)

They are described as nephews to Thomas Searle and Ann in the 1851 census. However, Joanna Searle (Richard and William's mother) is the daughter of Thomas and Ann (IGI record of christening). So they are grandparents - not aunt and uncle. This also resolves the earlier issue of trying to resolve age differences between the different family generations if they were aunt and uncle.
